Band Camp 2012

Band camps are necessary for all high school bands. It takes a great deal of time and effort to prepare and train students to learn how to perform a marching show for the new season.  Full attendance at Band Camp is required for participation in the Anderson County Band. All high school bands have band camp before the start of school. Some even require more weeks and more summer time commitment than we do. Our Camp dates are not decided by the directors, but are determined by the Anderson County Schools Calendar. We have to schedule our camp two weeks before the start of school and the required In-service days for teachers.

First Week

July 16 - July 20

¨    9:00-12:00     All band members (Music Rehearsal)

¨    12:00-1:00      Lunch Break (Bring a sack lunch, drinks, etc.)

¨      1:00-4:00       All new marchers (Introduction to Marching Fundamentals)

Second Week

July 23 - July 27

¨   9:00-12:00     All band members (Marching Fundamentals/Drill Instruction)

¨   12:00-1:00      Lunch Break (Bring a sack lunch)

¨   1:00- 5:00      All band members (Music Rehearsal + Drill Instruction)

After-School Practice Schedule

¨   Monday             3:45-5:30    Woodwinds only (Flute, Clarinet)

¨   Monday             6:00-8:30    Flags only

¨   Tuesday            3:45-5:30    Brass and Percussion only

¨   Thursday          3:45-5:30    All Members (Winds, Percussion, and Flags)

This schedule starts the first week of school and continues through October.  Please help us with the scheduling of appointments (and yes I know that this is hard to do).  Also note that Flags will have extremely important Saturday mini-camps (see flag information sheet with schedule).
